Programme features
The Aberystwyth MBA programme was established in 1985 and is accredited by the Association of MBAs. The MBA is a full-time one year study programme intended to lead on to a variety of employment options and career advancement. Designed for students from a wide range of disciplines, the programme attracts students from all over the globe. The School of Management and Business employs a range of teaching methods appropriate to individual modules and topics. As well as lectures and seminars, MBA students are involved in group projects and exercises, discussion and focus groups. A lively programme of visits to manufacturing and service sector companies and guest speakers augments the MBA teaching programme, as do case studies, video materials and other audio-visual facilities. The structure of the MBA is based on ten core modules spread over two semesters. These modules provide a thorough grounding in the general management disciplines such as Strategy, Marketing, Finance, Managerial Economics, Organisational Behaviour and Operations Management. The MBA teaching team is drawn from the faculty of the School and is actively involved in research, teaching and consultancy. The quality of the MBA teaching team reflects the research led ethos of the University.
