Nationwide
Employer profile
Nationwide is the world’s largest building society with 16,000 employees, around 800 branches, assets of over £200 billion and 15 million customers. It is the UK’s second-largest savings provider and third-largest mortgage provider. Our size means you can expect enormous scope, variety and opportunity, while our mutual status gives us a unique set of values — openness, honesty, dependability and trustworthiness — that you’ll need to believe in and bring to life every day.
Training programmes
With graduate positions available in a range of areas, our two- or three-year programmes provide careers with stretching targets and ownership of real business projects. You could become a HR specialist, a qualified accountant or auditor, a chartered financial analyst, or even study for a Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply qualification. Regardless of the business area you choose we aim to fund the relevant professional qualification — and as an organisation with a Gold Champion Status from Investors in People, you can be sure your career development is in safe hands.
Because our graduate talent programmes are designed to develop you to become one of our future business leaders, we want you to learn what we’re all about. You’ll therefore work with different teams on three or four placements before choosing the area that’s best suited to your abilities. So wherever your interests lie, and whichever programme you choose, you’ll be exposed to a broad range of business areas.
You will be assigned a senior manager mentor, who will provide support and guidance and ensure your personal and professional development stays on track. You will also have a ‘buddy’, a previous graduate who will provide more informal advice when needed.
