Unilever
Employer profile
Unilever is one of the world’s largest consumer goods companies and is responsible for a wealth of household brands that can be found in nine out of 10 UK homes, including Flora, Marmite, Knorr, Wall’s, Magnum, Lynx, Dove, TRESemmé, Persil and Domestos.
Unilever believes that sustainable growth is the only acceptable business model and it’s for this reason that the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan is at the heart of everything we do, ensuring that as a company, we have a positive impact on improving consumers’ health and wellbeing, reducing our environmental impact and enhancing livelihoods all around the world. We’ve set 50 time-bound commitments for 2020 to show just how we’re going to achieve our goal of doubling the size of our business while halving our environmental impact, and increasing our social impact.
The Unilever Future Leaders Programme (UFLP) invites graduates to be part of this and it’s all about learning the business fast and, as the name suggests, finding the leaders of the future. Three members of the UK and Ireland board today started life at Unilever as graduates. The UFLP is about growing iconic multi-million euro, market-leading brands from day one. It’s tapping into continuous business mentoring, excellent training, and hands-on responsibility. Graduates are likely to become managers in two to three years.
Training programmes
Graduates follow a learning roadmap during the UFLP which covers both general and leadership skills. They also have training related to their specific business areas and chartered qualifications are included in some business areas e.g. CIMA, CIPD and engineering qualifications.
