Full-time MBA
Programme features
The AMBA accredited MBA programme is offered on a one-year full time basis. One of the key strengths of the Glasgow MBA is the community approach to study and personal development. We aim to deliver a highly interactive and participative experience.
A viable learning community is particularly important on the full time MBA, which brings together a truly international and rich mix of participants, involving students from between 12 and 18 different countries each year. MBA Summer School in Europe (ESSAM)
Accreditations: EQUIS
Programme features
ESSAM is centred around three major components which combine to offer the participants the big picture; Europe and Management, the electives and the consulting projects. The teaching process is a mix of lectures, groups work, presentations, discussions and individual study.
Europe and Management, history and future challenges:
- The EU now has a total of 27 member states and negotiations with 3 formally acknowledged candidates. It is a great challenge for both the new members and the existing members to form the new Europe. - From a business perspective the enlargement opens many new possibilities, but it is a great task to develop them. It requires a lot of information and knowledge and the strategic options are many.
- You get the latest updates from Brussels on the political issues as well as its implications for business and management.
- In addition, you will also get hands-on experience by working on a relevant case-study delivered by a large European company. The participants will gain a very clear understanding of the European diversity and how to do business in Europe.
Team-based consulting project:
- A central feature to ESSAM is the team-based consulting project which is completed during the Summer School.
- Participants are assigned to a multi-cultural project group with the purpose of studying a strategic issue in a local company. Each group is expected to suggest strategies for further development of the company, present proposals and suggest an implementation of the strategies proposed in the form of a consultancy report. -Prizes are awarded for the best group projects.
Electives:
- Electives offered at ESSAM are all taught by internationally renowned faculty. Participants choose one of eight electives. All electives require active participation, class discussion, case-study analysis and group work. Participants must prioritise their choice of elective on the online application form. Not all of the electives will run.
