Student Reviews

What was really good about the experience?

I met absolutely amazing people, from very varied backgrounds and some of them I know will never lose touch with. The teaching is very relaxed yet the work expectations do not let you be too lax. As for the chemistry, first year was a bit disappointing in terms of what was taught, but I was told it was the same in every Scottish uni. Second year onwards just gets better. Nightlife is amazing, literally something for everyone out there. I sometimes stop in the street and look up to the majestic main building of uni and feel a real buzz and massive pride to belong to such an amazing environment and I sometimes do tell myself coming here was probably the best decision I've made so far.

What could be improved?

The accommodation I got (murano) seemed very run down, so that could do with a lift up. However, we still had an amazing time, so no worries on that side, noone died or anything. Other than that I don't have too many negative points to give.

Doing a lot of course restructuring within the medical degree for 1st years. Has affected my 1st year with a few inconveniences. Should be resolved for any new applicants though :)

What could be improved?

the teaching at this institution was of very poor standard. The lecturers are more interested in their own research the teaching. The masters students are treated with priority over the honours students. If you study chemistry don't expect to be in the lab in the final year which is a compete joke!
