The University of Hertfordshire is in Hatfield, just 25 minutes by train from London's King's Cross station and within easy access of the A1(M). The university also has its own bus company, Uno, ensuring both campuses are well connected across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and north London. The two campuses, College Lane and de Havilland, are situated less than a kilometre apart, connected by pathways, cycle routes and a free shuttle bus.

Herts is a campus-based university with a diverse and vibrant community. Lots of events happen throughout the year: recent events have included themed parties every Wednesday, trips to London museums and Windsor, and the Freshers' Fair. Herts Students' Union has over 100 societies, including everything from salsa dancing to LGBT+ and baking to K-pop. In Hatfield there are cafes, restaurants, pubs, and bars to explore.
