Advice for International Students

The UK is the second most popular destination for students from overseas, after the USA. Here in the UK we welcome more than 350,000 international students each year, more than 20 per cent of the world's share!

It is difficult enough for individuals living in the UK when faced with the bewildering choice amongst more than 140 universities and higher education institutions. How much more so for prospective students on the other side of the world.

The varying costs of living and studying in another country should be considered. Take, for example, your accommodation.

• Will this be university-owned or in the private sector?
• How far is it from the university?
• Is it secure, safe and warm?
• Does it have internet access?
• Would you have to move out in the vacations?
