Could be more done on free transport for students around the campus, especially in the evening

What was really good about the experience?

Great course with caring and responsive staff. The city is fantastic with a lot to do. The buses create easy access along Oxford Road to universities and to the city centre. Many societies to join which offer great opportunities. the city is also focused around students so it is cheap to eat and drink, especially in Fallowfield and around the university.

I think the social interaction in the engineering lectures could be improved. Currently I am only friends with people from my house and none off my course.

I think that the value for money could be improved. I feel as if I do not get supplied with enough support when travelling or taking up a placement (where I am forced to work for free)!

What was really good about the experience?

The University of Manchester has been an amazing place to study at as a college student. The student population is SO diverse, which gives you a greater appreciation for varied circumstances that have brought many people to this exact same stage in life. People are extremely welcoming here ans it is almost impossible to not find a place where you fit in. The professors have all been very knowledgeable/helpful in my experience and the teaching facilities are top notch. The night life in the city is incredible and so close to main campus. There are always fun things for you to do with friends and everything is very easily accessible. Being a student here is an experience that you will never forget and one that is definitely worth having.

The library isn't open 24 hours throughout the semester, which is a huge let down for students who like a quiet/structured environment when they are writing papers in the middle of the term.

What could be improved?

The University halls could be improved along with the application process. I applied for three halls when i stared to look at Manchester university but I didn't get offered any of them because they mixed up my application with someone else.
