Queen’s Belfast remains Northern Ireland’s top university but slips in national ranking – 2014 Complete University Guide

Queen’s University Belfast has maintained its lead over the University of Ulster in The Complete University Guide for 2014, which is published today (Monday April 29). But it has fallen to 29th in the national rankings, from 25th place last year. Ulster is placed 74th, down from 60th position last year.

University of St Andrews top university in Scotland, sixth in UK league – 2014 Complete University Guide

The University of St Andrews is Scotland’s leading university and remains the sixth best in the UK, according to The Complete University Guide for 2014, which is published today (Monday April 29).
Cambridge again heads The CUG ranking of 124 UK universities, with Oxford back in second place after being overtaking by the London School of Economics and Political Science last year. The University of Edinburgh declined two places to 18th, while the University of Glasgow dropped out of the Top 20, falling from 17th last year to 23rd.

Warwick remains leading university in the West Midlands – 2014 Complete University Guide

The University of Warwick remains the leading university in the West Midlands despite slipping two places in national rankings from sixth to eighth place, The Complete University Guide for 2014 reveals today (Monday April 29). The University of Birmingham enters the national top 20 in 17th place, up from 23rd last year, and Aston University climbs seven places to 27th position. Coventry University is also up, from 65th to 58th place

York is leading university in the Yorkshire and Humber region – 2014 Complete University Guide

The University of York is the leading university in the Yorkshire and Humber region and 12th in the UK, The Complete University Guide league tables for 2014, which is published today (Monday April 29), reveal. York is substantially ahead of its nearest rivals in the region, the University of Sheffield, which is in 26th place, up two from last year, and the University of Leeds, also up two to 32nd.

The University of Cambridge again heads The Complete University Guide’s 2014 ranking of the UK’s universities, which is published today (Monday April 29). The University of Oxford regained second place, while the London School of Economics and Political Science, which overtook Oxford last year, slipped back into third place.

The University of Oxford has regained second place in The Complete University Guide for 2014, which is published today (Monday April 29).
The London School of Economics and Political Science, which pipped Oxford to second place behind the University of Cambridge last year, slipped back into third place. Cambridge again heads The CUG ranking of 124 UK universities. Ten additional universities join the ranking for the first time this year.

Loughborough University holds on to lead in East Midlands but Leicester catches up – 2014 Complete University Guide

Loughborough University remains the leading university in the East Midlands and is again ranked 14th in the UK, according to The Complete University Guide league table for 2014, which is published today (Monday April 29). But its nearest regional rival, the University of Leicester, is up to 16th place from 20th last year, just two places behind.

It slipped behind the University of Oxford into third place while the University of Cambridge again heads The CUG ranking of the UK’s 124 universities.
