4,000 Unplaced Medics for UCAS 2012 entry

UCAS data seen by The Complete University Guide indicates that over 4,000 UCAS applicants for Medicine at UK universities did not have a firm offer of a place by the main deadline of early May. This is almost a quarter of all unplaced applicants so far.

London universities figure highly in the UK university league

The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) has edged ahead of Oxford to 2nd place in the latest edition of The Complete University Guide to the UK’s 116 universities. It is the first time since The Complete University Guide launched in 2007 that a university other than Oxford or Cambridge has held one of the top two places.

Universities from across the Midlands and East of England feature strongly in UK university league

In the West Midlands, the University of Warwick has moved up to 6th place. The University of Birmingham is placed 23rd, down from 22nd last year. The University of Aston falls from 25th to 34the place.

Queen’s University Belfast remains Northern Ireland’s leading university and has continued to improve its position among UK universities, according to The Complete University Guide to 116 UK universities, published on Tuesday 24 April. Queen’s has climbed from 31st to 25th position in the rankings. The University of Ulster has moved down the ranking, from 52nd to 60th.

The University of York has retained 12th place in The Complete University Guide to the UK’s 116 universities, which was published on Tuesday 24 April. The University of Durham retains its 5th place nationally and the University of Lancaster stays at 9th place.

Cambridge tops of UK league but Oxford loses 2nd place – 2013 Complete University Guide

The University of Cambridge retains its first place in The Complete University Guide to the UK’s 116 universities, which is published today. But Oxford drops to third, narrowly beaten by the London School of Economics and Political Science. In separate listings for the leading universities and higher education institutions covering 62 subjects, Cambridge takes top place in 30 of the 46 it offers, and in the top ten for 46. The LSE is in the top ten for all twelve of the subjects offered and is top for three. Oxford is in the leading 10 universities for all 32 of its subjects, and is placed first in 12.
