Corsair Bursary at the University of East Anglia
Corsair, the fiction imprint of Constable & Robinson, is sponsoring the Corsair Bursary at the University of East Anglia. The annual bursary, worth £5,000, is available for students wishing to study for the MA Creative Writing: Prose degree course offered by the School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing at UEA.
The bursary is open to students undertaking this degree course, who will be age 25 or under at the start of the academic year in which they begin the MA Creative Writing: Prose degree at UEA. The first bursary will be awarded in September 2012.
The selection committee will include James Garbutt, Publisher for Corsair, together with the Associate Dean for Learning, Teaching and Quality in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and the Director of the MA Creative Writing: Prose course. Selection criteria will include exceptional prose writing potential, evidence of commitment to development as a prose writer, and evidence of self-motivation, determination and an active approach to establishing and developing a life as a prose writer.
The Corsair imprint was launched by Constable & Robinson in 2010 with one of its first titles, Jennifer Egan's groundbreaking A Visit from the Goon Squad, winning the Pulitzer Fiction Prize.
