Students are provided with lots of opportunities to connect with industry, and a student consultancy places students with businesses across the UK. The Innovation Enterprise Zone offers opportunities for students to work as innovation consultants with companies on bespoke projects. The main campus is in Stoke-on-Trent, a Midlands city known as the world capital of ceramics. It is close to Stoke-on-Trent railway station and within walking distance of the city centre's shops, bars and Cultural Quarter. The university also has a specialist campus in Stafford. The Centre for Health Innovation is an environment catering for future healthcare professionals who will spend 50% of their time on practice learning placements. A London campus opened in 2019 to build on the university's reputation for games and computing. Based at Here East – one of the largest tech hubs in Europe – the site in Stratford, East London, was previously used for the 2012 Olympic Games.
