What do these scores mean?
History
- 168 years of heritage.
- Originally founded in 1840 as two separate London teaching colleges (College of St Mark; College of St John).
- The colleges merged in 1923, moved to Plymouth in 1973 and in 2007 were awarded University College status.

Course flexibility
- We are keen to provide flexibility and choice allowing you to select modules from a range of options in your degree programme.
- UCP Marjon now offers 2-year accelerated degrees in a range of subjects as well as work based study programmes. The 2-year programme will enable you to get started in your career sooner, meaning you will be earning faster as well as making significant savings in tuition fees and student living costs (the anticipated fee for our 2-year fast-track programme will be £8,700 per year, or £17,400 for the degree).
Teaching standards
- Top marks awarded by Ofsted in their inspection of the management and quality of our Teacher Training programmes, and a recent TDA survey of newly qualified teachers noted us among the ten best for preparing primary student teachers for teaching reading.
- NSS results ranked UCP Marjon within the top 10% nationally for Personal Development and the top 20% for academic support.

- As a teaching-led institution, our research activities focus on improving and developing the learning experience of our students.
Academic strengths

Students' union
- Run by students for students. The SU represents and acts on behalf of the student body at committee and board meetings.
- The SU encourages diversity through involvement in activities and development opportunities.
- The SU creates a friendly and open social environment and facilitates inter-university sport at national level.
Sport
- New, fully equipped sports centre opened September 2010. 6253-square-metre sports centre to include 25m five lane swimming pool, a new 12-court sports hall, 90-station fitness suite, dance studio, 12-bed sports injury clinic and sports science lab, indoor climbing wall to support outdoor adventure, plus the existing outdoor sport pitches (two grass and one floodlit artificial turf).
