What was really good about the experience?

Dedicated and hard-working who staff who gave that bit extra to help. A genuinely cosmopolitan feel and amiable student atmosphere. Really good social links and lots of societies. A really good media scene. A very impressive regeneration of the new campus on Heslington East.

What could be improved?

Expand the careers department - it's the main thing holding York back in the league tables. There needed to be an upgrade of the sports facilities but that's now happened with the new sports village!

What was really good about the experience?

Friendly, knowledgeable and approachable professors, helpful staff, a strong and vibrant international community that's extremely well integrated with the local students, beautiful campus, gorgeous city that's 10 minutes away by bus and about 20 if you decide to walk, peaceful surroundings, excellent facilities, 2 lakes (!)..........i could go on and on.

What could be improved?

Not much. The University is new, as a result of which it'll take a little more time to establish itself as one of the premier academic institutions in the U.K.. One thing I would like to mention, though, would be the lack of placements (forget internationals; their placements are dictated by visa rules. I mean domestic students), which seems to hurt the University in quite a few league tables (York routinely scores poorly in the post-graduation employment rankings, when compared to other universities hovering around the same rank). Maybe that's something they could look into, perhaps?
