Programme Features

  • Designed for practising managers looking to take a step upwards to a strategic role, the MBA will build and hone broad management skills for delivering strategy and change within the complex landscape of modern business.
  • Students consider their own roles as manager and leader, and develop a strategic awareness of the commercial environment in which their business operates. 
  • The key management functions of marketing, finance and human resources management are studied to show how they relate to each other, with opportunities to apply learning to the workplace.
  • Modules covered include personal and business transformation, ethical leadership, managing within a competitive environment, leading transitions, implementing strategy, and sustaining the business. Students also complete a research project relating to a management issue.
  • Alongside a master's, students will get a CMI Level 6 qualification in Strategic Management and Leadership – industry-recognised, and also a fast-track route toward Chartered Manager status (online course only).

Course Duration

  • 18 months to five years (part-time) online, or two years (part-time) via blended learning at a study centre.

MBA Top-Up (via distance learning)

Programme Features

  • Building on a student's existing postgraduate study and business experience, this MBA develops their thinking in preparation for key positions in industry, commerce and the public sector.
  • Students study a cross-cutting 'strategic' module to consider contemporary ideas in a global context, exploring the development and implementation of strategy and how to sustain both themselves and organisation they manage in the future.
  • This is followed by a work-based research project relating to a management issue in a relevant area of the student's choice, providing the opportunity to add value with their employer and enhance their CV.
  • Applicants must have 120 credits at level 7 in a broadly based business or management award (e.g. Postgraduate Diploma in Business or ILM level 7 Diploma in Leadership and Management) plus 2 years suitable work experience. Students whose prior learning was not taught in English must also have IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.

Course Duration

  • One to two years (part-time) online, maximum time of two and a half years.

MBA Finance (via distance or blended learning)

Programme Features

  • Following similar content to the main MBA, the MBA (Finance) has been developed with a particular focus on the role of management accounting in supporting the development, growth and sustainability of a company.
  • Modules covered include personal and business transformation, ethical leadership, financial management, reporting corporate performance, implementing strategy, and sustaining the business. Students also complete a research project relating to a management issue.

Course Duration

  • 18 months to two and a half years (part-time) online; or two years (part-time) via blended learning at a study centre.

MBA Data Analytics (via distance learning)

Programme Features

  • Following similar content to the main MBA, the MBA (Data Analytics) has been developed to help students hone their broad management skills, whilst learning how to analyse data effectively to create and manage strategic decisions needed within the complex landscape of modern business. 
  • Students also explore how to communicate findings to others within an organisation in ways that are easily understood and accessible to all.
  • Modules covered include data handling and decision making, ethical leadership, personal and business transformation, implementing strategy, and sustaining the business. Students also complete a research project relating to a management issue.

Course Duration

  • 18 months to five years (part-time) online.

MBA with University of Bradford (via distance learning)

Accreditations: AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS

Programme Features

  • The University of Bradford's established and well-regarded MBA is aimed at intelligent, highly motivated managers who wish to equip themselves with essential leadership, business and management skills to make the transition to the next level in their careers.
  • Once students start the distance learning MBA programme they become part of the University of Bradford School of Management student community: on graduation, the MBA certificate will be issued by the University of Bradford. Students learn through tutor groups, weekly online discussions, and live face-to-face online tutorial sessions, where they can build and develop their professional networks.
  • While students do not have to attend any on-site teaching, they have an opportunity to take part in face-to-face teaching sessions with academics from the School of Management in University of Bradford and/or at its learning hub in Dubai (subject to availability).
  • Career advice and support is available remotely from the University of Bradford careers service.
  • Distance learning students usually study 2 modules every 3 months. Each module is split into 9 units (8 learning units and 1 revision unit). Students are expected to work through 1 unit per module per week.

Innovation, Enterprise and Circular Economy MBA with University of Bradford (distance learning)

Programme Features

  • This unique MBA has been co-created by the University of Bradford and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. It builds on the general MBA management programme to focus on the topic of Circular Economy, to prepare the next generation of leaders with first-hand knowledge on the circular economy, while learning and putting into practice contemporary business leadership and management knowledge.
  • With current economic conditions characterised by increased price volatility and scarcity of energy and resources, this MBA seeks a fresh perspective which integrates systems thinking and looks beyond the linear 'take, make, dispose' model. Students gain an insight into core business and management theories as well as the issues and opportunities from a circular economy approach. The programme also looks at energy, resources and commodities as a critical component of future economic and business prosperity. It explores the value and benefits of localisation, global trading relationships and enabling communication technologies, and students consider material flows, reverse logistics, regenerative product design and virtuous business cycles.
  • Students benefit from the University of Bradford School of Management student community. This allows students to develop their professional networks while learning from the experiences of other students through tutor groups, weekly online discussions, and live face-to-face online tutorial sessions – as well as collaborating on projects with students from across the world.
