How does paying back the tuition fee loan and maintenance loan work?

I know that they start taking money straight from us automatically when we reach a certain salary, but if I was to manage to save the money to pay off my debts would I be able to just give the money in and be done with it?

As you say money will automatically be paid back once you have a salary of over £21,000.

You can indeed make voluntary repayments whenever you like. Our pages on repaying your student loan with all the info you need can be found here:

You will be interested in our Student Loan Repayment Calculator - it calculates how long it will take you to repay your loan based on how much you received and how much you expect to earn.
