Can you defer your start date at universiies in the UK by a few months?

I have applied and got an offer from King's College London and the University of Manchester. I got some urgent work so I cannot join to university in September, when university normally commences.

Can I defer the commencement of my course for 2 to 3 months?
Answered by Alison Patterson
There is no flexibility on start dates for undergraduate courses – this would require a complete overhaul of the university system. You would have to defer for 1 year and begin in September 2016.

For postgraduate degrees there may be some flexibility but you must contact Manchester and Kings ASAP.
