Deprived postcode area – are there any bursaries available?

Both of my children are going to university in September 2015. Our postcode is in an area where not many children get to university. Are there any bursaries that they can apply for? One is going to th University of Leicester, the other to Loughborough University.
Answered by Alison Patterson
For Loughborough go to: www.lboro.ac.uk/study/finance/ug2015/
See the information about Development Trust Scholarships.

For Leicester go to:www2.le.ac.uk/study/fees/2015

Use the links to contact the universities.

I presume you have already applied to Student Finance England for tuition fees loans and other Government support? It is a good idea to contact the universities direct. Universities have hardship funds for one-off payments when students are in immediate distress. Otherwise, eligibility for bursaries and scholarships tends to be based on income, first in family to enter HE, post code or excellent performance in A levels.
