Changing course - effect on finance?

I am currently a first year studying maths at Southampton, and I've decided it's really not for me. I originally applied to do a history degree but ended up doing maths, but I know now that history is the degree for me. I'm in the process of reapplying, but what I'm struggling to find is what happens about my student finance? Do I need to pass this year to avoid something weird happening and having to pay it back?
Answered by Alison Patterson
You should contact Student Finance England to find out exactly what will happen if you discontinue your current course. Telephone: 0845 300 5090

For future funding go to:
www.gov.uk/student-finance/who-qualifies

You should aim to pass this current year of study, if possible.

Good luck
