A Level Physical Education for medicine/dentistry course

Do universities accept A Level Physical Education as a valid A Level for medicine and dentistry courses? If so, which universities and courses?
Answered by Alison Patterson
Hi Christian,

We think there is no option but to check each university. At best we would expect it only to count as a third A level subject after two specified science subjects.

You can check online before asking universities for clarification. Click on entry requirements for each course. Generally, some subjects are stated as necessary, such as Chemistry or Biology. And some subjects may be specifically excluded - General Studies, for example.

Applicants will also have to take the UKCAT or BMAT, and remember that competition for places is always high!

Good luck with your application!
