International student study in UK this SeptemberApr 2020
I’m an international student and worried about my plans for studying in the UK in September because of the coronavirus. What should I do?
Everybody is hoping for things to return to as normal as possible in September. Keep progressing your university applications, visas, accommodation etc., and do what you were planning to do – if you want. Otherwise, you could consider a different option, such as deferring for a year or studying online. You won’t be able to enrol in September unless you have carried out all the usual application requirements. Speak with your agent/advisor as normal, and to universities for queries about direct applications. Keep an eye on emails for information and key dates, and ensure you have key contacts in your email contact list so you don’t miss anything in your junk folder. Accommodation guarantees (not all international student be able to come in September), but makes sense to apply as usual. Keep your hopes and plans as they are. The UK is open for business and universities are still welcoming international students. Universities hope for no incidences of international students feeling alienated, and will look after them really well. Keep an eye on our coronavirus updates page for current information.
