Awaiting an offer or rejection after interview. How long can universities take?
Jun 2019How long is the process of waiting after a interview for an offer or rejection? My son is still awaiting a reply from a university and he had the interview just over three weeks ago.
Universities can work to their own timescales within UCAS limits. The interview process may take 3–6 weeks so individual decisions may be delayed until after all applicants have been considered. As good practice the university should keep the applicant informed on timescales and progress. We'd suggest that your son contacts the university directly for an update if he's really worried, but he will hear in due course.
