Required qualifications for Automotive Engineering

I am 17, and currently at Swindon college - going onto my second year. I'm learning to be a mechanic, and am studying Automotive Engineering, i.e. fixing cars and motorbikes. What is the minimum qualification to get into university to do Mechanics?

Hello Jack,

Here is a list of all Mechanical Engineering degree courses in England:

Click on a few courses (try the BEng) and click on entry requirements. It will give you entry requirements for BTEC. All courses and universities have different requirements so it is not possible to generalise, but it is a numerate discipline and you will need to demonstrate proficiency in Maths.

You could take A levels or consider an Access to HE qualification from your local college if your current course does not give you the necessary qualifications.

I hope this helps. Good luck.
