Dropping out of uni early

Hi,

I moved away to university this September, but I'm now 8 weeks in and I've decided I don't like it. However, I don't know how to go about dropping out. I've signed a one-year contract on my flat, and I've also received maintenance loans as well as the first semester loan being paid to the uni.

I do intend to reapply for the uni in my home area next academic year, but I don't feel like I could stick out a year here away from home. How would I go about dropping out?

Thanks

Hi Georgia,

I'm sorry to hear that you're not enjoying your time at university.

You must talk to the university authorities to let them know your thoughts and to check your contractual obligations. Is the flat university-owned?

You should also discuss with your parents and university tutors as they may be able to help you find the smoothest path forwards.

Good luck with everything.

Thanks,
CUG
