What is the Russell Group?

Does it make a difference whether the university is a part of the Russell Group or not? If yes, how?
Answered by Alison Patterson
Hello there,

Not in itself. However, the Russell Group largely share a range of characteristics - research intensive, large, comprehensive, recruiting nationally and internationally, etc – and so is a short-hand for a particular type of university.

Hope this helps,
CUG
