Notification of acceptance dates

When applying to UK schools from the US, are notifications of acceptance typically made on a rolling basis, or all at once on the date in May? I ask because in the US, admissions offers and decisions are typically made in April. If an American applicant is considering going to school either in the UK or the US, it would be difficult to make a decision without knowing the status of the UK application.

Hello Liza,

UK decisions are made on a rolling basis. If you are waiting for one UK university, you could contact them and ask when they are likely to make their decision.

I suppose you couldn't accept the US offer without risking your deposit if you then didn't attend?

I think it's unlikely that you will wait until April for UK decisions if your UCAS application was submitted in good time (before 15 January).

Take a look at our section on studying in the UK for extra help for international students: www.thecompleteuniversityguide.co.uk/international.../

Good luck.
