No fees for the first child in a family going to university?

I will be the first child from my family to go to university, I've heard that this means I get a free education or at least reduced fees. Is this true?
Answered by Alison Patterson
Student finance do not have a rule where if you're the first in your family to go to university you get full funding.

It can depend on the university you are attending, universities have their own bursaries and scholarships packages. The information will be on their websites.
The amount of grant you can get from the Government will depend on your household income.
