Change subject & defer entry

My daughter has offers for Medicine. However, she has been very ill and doesn't know if she could start this year. She has also said she might want to change subject to Finance (not in Clearing).

Could she accept her offer for Medicine, and defer/change subject if she changes her mind in August? In other words, could she make a completely new application for the following year?

Answered by Alison Patterson
Hi Paula,

Yes, is the simple answer. It would be advisable to hold on to her current offers and firm on this. Later, she can review her options.

Any university will be sensitive to her needs and wishes following an illness.

She can withdraw from this cycle of UCAS, if that is what she decides to do, and proceed with a fresh application for 2018.

Best wishes to you and your daughter.
