NHS Bursary

I am a medical student and will be entering my fifth year of study this summer 2019. I am slightly confused about the help with funding for the 5th and 6th years. Previously, I have got a maintenance loan and a tuition fee loan via Student Finance England. What happens in the next two years? I am confused about the difference between Student Finance England and the NHS bursary. Should I be applying to both?
Answered by Alison Patterson
The NHS Bursary replaces the SFE student loan for the final clinical years of your medical degree. I think the medical school staff should be able to help and guide you on this – go to the school office and ask for their help. You can read our information and advice on medical course funding and on the NHS Student Services page.
