Why can't I just take three AS-Levels rather than four?

As most university offers are three A-Levels, why can't I take three (and an extended project) not 4? I would get far higher grades.
Answered by Alison Patterson
Good question. A three A-level plus EPQ model is a good strategy, but is a risk if you don't like one of the three A-Levels; A 4th AS-Level can offer greater variety and reduce risk.
Speak honestly about your concerns to your school/college and see if you can come to an agreement. It's up to them at the end of the day.
