Why is there such a huge difference between contact hours for different courses?

Why does my son's course have lectures 3 half days a week and a friend, studying a different subject is having lectures 5 days a week 9am-5pm but both courses are £9,000 a year?
This is quite common. Some courses encourage a great deal of independent study, particularly arts courses. I highly doubt that the university is providing a lower standard of education for your son hence the matching fees.

However, with the fees being so high nowadays this is becoming more of a cause for concern for students and parents alike. We recommend that you follow the university's official complaints procedures, if after careful consideration you remain unhappy with the provision of the course.

If you feel the matter is not dealt with appropriately please take to the Office of the Independent Adjudicator:
