What are the best universities for Computer Science?

I want to know the difference between a BSc (Hons) Computing and a BE Computer Engineering. Are they equivalent? Which university is the best for study?
Answered by Alison Patterson
You should check the course content and module lists for each course. It is my impression that generally the BSc is software oriented and the BEng is hardware oriented.
You should check our Computer Science league table and use as a guide as to which university may be best for these courses: www.thecompleteuniversityguide.co.uk/league-tables...e
One important thing to look for is professional accreditation. Check that the course has accreditation by a professional body because this is valuable and can lead to Chartered Engineer status.
A good place to make comparisons is at Unistats
