This two-year intensive programme is accredited as a Qualifying Law Degree in England and Wales by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and Bar Standards Board. This provides exemption from the academic stage of qualification for both branches of the legal profession, making it ideal for those intending to qualify as a solicitor or barrister. This intensive LLB allows you to condense three years of study into two years, accelerating your career development. You will also benefit from court and prison visits, a dedicated Moot Room for moots and mock trials and a Law and Criminal Justice block. The Law team has strong links with the local legal profession and visiting law firms and barristers provide you with career advice.
The two year intensive LLB (Hons) provides an alternative to the three year qualification, allowing you to graduate and fast track your career and move onto the next stage. The intensive degree enables you to complete your degree in two years by extending the academic year into the normal vacation periods. You will need a strong academic ability and background in order to be able to cope with the demands of the course.
By the time you graduate you will have developed a range of skills which will enhance your employability, whether in the legal profession or in another career. We work closely with the University Centre for Employability and Engagement (UCEE), who will support you with your career planning. Students attend the annual Law Careers Fair and University Careers Fair which offers the opportunity to meet with potential future employers.
