Course Summary

The BSc Economics degree at Swansea University has an excellent reputation for producing elite graduates, many of whom have progressed to work with world-leading brands such as Barclays, HSBC and PricewaterhouseCoopers. You will be taught economic theory blended with mathematical and statistical elements. This helps to build the analytical tools, knowledge and techniques needed to thrive in a financially rewarding economics position.

The School of Management uses a variety of teaching methods, in the main, through weekly lectures and seminars. From the start of your degree, you will be immersed in our cutting-edge research and industry led teaching, having every opportunity to develop key transferable skills whilst meeting the learning outcomes set out in the module syllabus. The Economics department has introduced the concept of digital media assessments whereby students working in small groups produce a four-minute digital video presentation, allowing you to broaden your team work and creative skill set.

A range of different assessment methods is used including individual assignments, group work, presentations, business reports and exams. This degree will make you a strong candidate for any graduate employer. Your future job title could be any of the following: Economist, Analyst, Researcher, Government Adviser, Management Consultant, Derivatives Trader, Financial Analyst and Econometrician.
