Course Summary

Counselling in schools is enshrined in Welsh Government legislation and education policy. In response to the ongoing demand of meeting training standards within counselling and psychotherapy in the UK, Wrexham Glyndŵr University has developed this innovative top-up degree for qualified counsellors. If you are a counsellor or psychotherapist qualified to Diploma level, and you would like to develop your practice with a specialism in working with Children and Young People this could be the course for you. It is also possible to take core modules COU610 and COU612 as standalone CPD (subject to student numbers). Students will be required to be in employment (voluntary or paid) where they are working with a client group appropriate to their chosen route (Children and Young People or Adult route). This will be a requirement to successfully completing all the modules leading to the award of either BSc (Hons) in Counselling (Children and Young People) or the BSc (Hons) Counselling (Adults).
