The evolution of the built environment perfectly exemplifies how far the human race has come, and how diverse our species is. From the earliest huts and shelters all the way through to the skyscrapers commonplace in today’s cities, humans have designed some tremendous buildings along the way.
Here’s a timeline of our top ten greatest architectural feats in human history:
1. Great Pyramid of Giza
Location: Giza, Egypt
Built as a tomb for Pharaoh Khufu, the pyramid took over 20 years to construct. Standing at 138.8 metres it’s is the only Ancient Wonder of the World still intact – an architectural feat indeed.
