The Course

Summary

Advanced mechanical engineers are in demand globally in areas such as automotive, defence, energy and manufacturing. You gain an in depth technical knowledge of mechanical topics in the area of computational mechanics, materials and reliability engineering. If you have already worked in the area the programme gives you transferrable skills to solve complex engineering challenges at advanced level.

You benefit from international academics with professional experience from this industry and industry professionals other networks to support your studies with plenty of industry relevant challenges.

The School of Engineering has multidisciplinary links across its research portfolio and there is a constant exchange of knowledge with industry. Research groups include Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanics of Fluids, Soils and Structures, Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering, Chemical and Materials Engineering. You are welcome to attend events and seminars in the school and networking events within the city. You can also take advantage of relevant societies and a wide range of excellent practical facilities to support your studies.
