GCE A-level: AAA including Mathematics and either Physics, Chemistry or Electronics.If you are not taking Physics, Chemistry or Electronics A level but are passionate about studying Electronic and Electrical Engineering, find out about our pre-semester Faculty of Engineering Physics Pathway programme. We would still require AAA from your A levels, which must include Maths. Completing the Physics Pathway Programme would prepare you for the degree, and involves attendance at the University for 4 weeks prior to the first year of your degree course beginning. The Physics Pathway programme is free, and scholarships for accommodation are also available for some applicants. For further details contact eee-rec@sheffield.ac.uk, Tel 0114 2225382. Please note that this is only available to applicants who do not require a Tier 4 visa to study in the UK.
SQA Higher: AAAAB plus grades AA including Mathematics and either Physics, Chemistry or Electronics at A-level.
SQA Advanced Higher: AA in Mathematics and either Physics, Chemistry or Electronics plus grades AAAAB in Scottish Highers.

The Course

Summary

This course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer. The learning and assessment percentages could vary depending on the modules you choose. Typical graduate job titles include: design engineer, system engineer, electrical engineer, electronic engineer, control and instrumentation engineer, software engineer, graduate analyst, research and development test engineer, electrical building services engineer. Employers include Airbus UK, Arup, Atkins, Barclays, BP, EDF Energy, EON, Ericsson, Jaguar Land Rover, National Grid, Nokia, Rolls-Royce, Shell and Siemens.
