Course summary
**This course is primarily designed for face to face learning with you attending your lessons for the specified hours within the validation document. However, there may be periods of study where the government advises TEC Partnership that it is not safe to open campuses or there is limited access due to social distancing measures. If the campus is closed TEC Partnership will deliver your sessions online and offer you the necessary support and resources remotely. If there is limited access due to social distancing measures a blended model will be adopted with some lessons happening in small groups and others happening using online sessions and support. We will make decisions on the delivery hours for each programme as government advice becomes clearer. We are currently reviewing this programme and some elements of the published programmes may need to change in order for students to achieve. We will advise you of these changes once they are completed.**This programme aims to equip students with a solid foundation in 3D Visualisation to enable them to work in a variety of commercial environments and contexts such as: Engineering, Architecture, Advertising, Visual Effects (VFX), Medicine, Product and Industrial Design, User Experience Design, Virtual, Mixed and Augmented Reality, Entertainment Design. 3D visualisation within the design process allows a continuous review of the geometry, materials and design throughout the creative process. Dedicated tools and functions give freedom to effectively communicate ideas in real time, involving consumers and decision-makers from the very start. Virtual drafting of design concepts in 3D and in real time permits discussions, evaluation and testing to give a highly realistic product experience. This accelerates the design process leading to new, efficient methods that connect departments and stakeholders, getting products to market faster.Level 4 will focus on the acquisition of 3D Visualisation skills such as 3D modelling, texturing and lighting. These skills will be complemented with art fundamentals such as perspective, composition, light, colour and depth in order to develop fully rounded 3D Visualisers and Artists equipped with transferable artistic skills, able to work across many disciplines within 3D.Level 5 will focus on the development of skills within commercial contexts and scenarios and the opportunity to move towards specialism within a specialist studio project module at the end of level 5. Students at this level learn how to create 3D Visualisation for various commercial production contexts and how to design and present their project work to professional standards.3D Visualisation is an innovative and emerging area of contemporary design and creative practice. Its blending of art and technology calls for practitioners who are both technically skilled and aesthetically aware. The FdA 3D Visualisation course is designed to equip practitioners with strong observational skills and the ability to apply these skills in the composition of 3D visuals for a variety of commercial contexts. In order to foster and develop these abilities, the course articulates 3D Visualisation as possessing a distinct visual language that is in increasing demand across a wide range of industries and commercial contexts.
