You’ll graduate with real-life experience, skills, and a portfolio that will help kick-start your career.**About this course**On this course, you’ll experiment and explore your creative potential, preparing you for a career in the visual arts or creative industries. You’ll work with a range of traditional and new technologies, including sculpture, painting, printmaking, installation, film/ photography, performance and sound. Developing technical and collaborative skills, you’ll test your ideas and use of media in the studio and through optional live projects. You’ll explore source material and the relationship of written and spoken communication to media and materials. Your work will reflect critical, conceptual, theoretical and aesthetic issues. The course culminates with a dissertation, final portfolio and the exhibiting of your work.This course provides an integrated approach to fine art practice: you'll have the opportunity to study painting, sculpture, printmaking, lens-based media, performance and site specific activity and new technologies, either in single, unchanging disciplines throughout three years or in combinations.You'll get to hear from visiting artists and take part in live external projects. Our industry links include the Tate, Stanley Picker Gallery, the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA), Drawing Room and Auto Italia.Fine Art is taught in its own dedicated building: you'll be studying together with other Fine Art undergraduates in one location, which means we are a strong, close community.

The preferred entry route for this course is for applicants to be taking a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design, or the recognised equivalent.Applicants will need a minimum of 112 tariff points from recognised level 3 qualifications.Plus GCSE (A*–C or comparable numeric scores under the newly reformed GCSE gradings): five subjects including English and Maths (Key Skills Level 2 may be used in lieu of GCSE English and Maths).Offers will be made on the basis of your UCAS application, portfolio of work and interview for selected applicants.You will be notified by email giving you advice about how to upload your online portfolio, once we have received your application.
