Course Summary

History and International Relations BA (Hons) is a joint honours degree which will allow you to gain first-class exposure to both subject matters in equal measures. Students will acquire a broader range of skills when compared with a normal single honours degree, and enjoy the option of specializing as you progress through the course.

This course enables you to understand how key global factors have responded to international political, economic and social challenges since the Second World War. Students to develop the skills and knowledge they need to secure diverse and exciting jobs.

We design our courses to ensure that they provide all students with the knowledge they need to develop an expertise in their chosen field, but also the skills they need to succeed in an increasingly competitive market place. You will learn essential transferable skills that you can carry with you into the world of work.

In History and International Relations degree is that you'll have the opportunity to take a one-year professional placement between their second and third year of studies. By undertaking a year in placement or a year abroad, you will gain an additional award alongside your final qualification. If you complete an industrial placement year you will gain a Diploma in Industrial Studies (DIS). If you undertake a professional placement year you will gain a Diploma in Professional Studies (DPS) or if you study abroad for a year you will gain a Diploma in International Studies (DIntS). This professional placement helps you test drive a career and stand out to employers. Placement options are wide and varied but would typically be a graduate level role with one of a broad range of companies or organisations
