This is because it’s more than green and lovely, it’s a place of research and academic excellence too.The Science Foundation Year provides students with the opportunity to study, in a university setting, the skills and subject knowledge required to progress to a wide range of science degrees.This course provides a scientific background customised to your needs as well as enhanced study skills. A choice of modules is available from the life, physical, geographical and environmental sciences; mathematics; computing and psychology.After you have completed your Science Foundation Year, you could progress on to the Neuroscience programme.Explore the mystery of the human brain: the central nervous system, the impact of drugs upon it, and the molecular biology of diseases and disorders of the brain. Study Neuroscience at Keele and you'll learn how the brain works - and why it sometimes does not.You’ll discover how we learn and remember, how our brains control the body, and how the brain regenerates and repairs itself. You could study interesting disciplines such as neuroanatomy, neuropharmacology and neuropathology. Single Honours Neuroscience enables you to focus your studies on an in-depth coverage of a wide range of Neuroscience topics. If you choose Combined Honours Neuroscience you will combine the core elements of Neuroscience with the ability to choose other areas of the subject that may interest you. Working in diverse ways, including in our modern labs, you’ll develop your independent research skills as you learn to acquire, interpret and analyse data from multiple sources. You’ll also understand how neuroscience can help us understand medical problems and improve the quality of life.
