In this case, your programme will be made up of a combination of modules from both Computer Science and Neuroscience.On this course you will gain expertise in robotics and neural networks; sensory and motor neuroscience, and in brain disease such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. You will have access to a first-rate environment for studying with dedicated computing labs and cutting-edge equipment. Our high quality teaching and support scored highly in the National Student Survey (2016).This course is suited to those who would like to study Computer Science and Neuroscience in equal weight and gain a deep understanding of a scientific domain that complements the computing discipline and an area they can apply their computing knowledge to. Our teaching in both subjects is informed by our world-leading and cutting-edge research, and reflects current best practice in industry.You’ll learn to use technology to solve a wide range of problems, benefiting every aspect of society. The course starts at an introductory level and then develops further to include both practical and theoretical aspects of the two subjects. You can study areas such as AI, machine learning, behavioural neuroscience, computer games development, learning and memory, human-computer interaction, software engineering and cybersecurity. Students can follow a set of modules providing a specialism in information systems, smart systems, or creative computing.Our Computer Science and Neuroscience degree builds the essential skills which are in demand from employers looking for systems analysts, research scientists, programmers, web/app developers, interface designers, data scientists, software engineers and consultants. You’ll graduate with a wide range of employability skills plus a highly developed approach to problem solving.Recent graduates have gone to work for companies as diverse as Apple, BAE Systems, Barclays, BBC (iPlayer), Bentley, McLaren (F1), Capgemini, EA Games, Experian, Microsoft and the Ministry of Defence. If you choose to do a four year course, with a year’s industrial placement, you’ll have the added benefit of significant work experience to offer employers.
