Projects and workshops are at the centre of your studies, with ongoing tutorials, formative feedback sessions and project reviews across the year.**How you learn**This course is part of the Sheffield Institute of Arts — our creative community within Sheffield Hallam.You learn core principles of graphic design, explore design thinking and use creative research methods to explore and test ideas, as well as exploring practices such as user experience design and digital storytelling. The distinctive portfolio of work you develop from these experiences will communicate your strengths to prospective employers when you graduate.You learn through• problem-based and practical activity-based sessions• group and individual project work• workshops• tutorials• seminars and lectures• field trips and study visitsThere are opportunities to study abroad at one of our partner universities with the possibility of funding through the Erasmus programme.**Applied learning****Work placements**You will have the opportunity to arrange a year-long work placement in between your second and third years. This gives you a real-world experience to prepare you for your future career.**Live projects**There are live projects throughout the course which give you experience working on real problems and opportunities.Our students have worked with the NHS and social change charity Good Things Foundation, with theatre company Third Angel, and design studios and agencies such as Why Not Associates and Graphic Thought Facility. **Accreditation**This course is accredited by The Chartered Society of Designers (CSD)
