Course Summary

We strongly believe two things:- software should satisfy the needs of the people who will be using it- the process of software development is rewarding and fun.Because we hold these values, our Applied Computing degree is rather special. We focus on software engineering and user centred design rather than mathematics. As a result, our students are successful, employable, employed and proud of what they do."Knowledge is great, but applying it is better!" -BSc (Hons) Applied Computing is a degree for people who are creative, problem-solvers, good team-players and who enjoy a challenge. It is about the satisfaction of software development, not about office applications. Our course is modelled on good practice in industry, and we update it annually to safeguard its relevance to the real world. It is successful too - our students are nationally recognised for the quality of their project work.
