Introduction:

This Social Work England (SWE) approved degree will prepare you for the role of a social worker. It has been designed to enable you to progress into employment and integrates both academic and practice work-based modules.

How you’re taught

To provide you with a first-class learning experience and to guarantee you have an opportunity to make the most of your time at university, you'll receive contact time through a diverse range of delivery methods.

Structured teaching will be delivered through a combination of traditional lectures, seminars, and workshops. The smaller group seminars and workshops provide opportunities to develop:

  • the ability to discuss a wide range of views effectively.

How will I be assessed?

The majority of your work will be assessed through coursework-based essays, reports and presentations. You'll also be assessed using formal examinations and online tests. The Assessed Practice Learning Periods form an integral part of the assessment process, and are arranged and assessed by the University in partnership with social work organisations.

In response to student feedback, the University have introduced a policy ensuring marked work is returned to you electronically within three weeks of submission.
