This programme allows you to convert from an undergraduate degree across a range of science or arts disciplines to allow you to work in information technology and related employment areas. It is delivered entirely online with plenty of support and a range of learning methods available. You may also wish to study this subject to augment existing skills, knowledge and work experience related to information technology areas in order to rapidly progress, change direction or add to your knowledge.
The programme is made up from courses which combined give you wide ranging knowledge of information technology and separately are often employment specialisms in their own right with background taken from the other courses available. This gives you wide ranging possibilities and employment options when you graduate. You learn how to work with databases and big data, develop web applications, design software, analyse systems and their design, provide security to applications and information, study human centred design and interactions and finally study enterprise as applied to computing and business.
The programme at Aberdeen is well established and it has resulted in graduates being employed by the major IT players of today including Amazon, IBM, Hewlett Packard and a wide range of other technology companies and multinationals in need of constant innovation to drive their products and customer base forward.
You can take the programme over either 5 months if you want to take ISS qualification or 27 or 30 months to gain your MSc. Some of the modules in the programme also allow you to continue your professional development. The programme is internationally relevant as much of the employment within information technology is global in its application and presence.
