Course Summary

This innovative new course prepares you to apply scientific principles to help address some of the most significant problems facing the Earth today. By combining the disciplines of geology and physical geography, the BSc Geoscience helps you develop a deep understanding of challenges, including: Climate change; Natural hazards; Population; Energy and natural resources; Interactions between humans and the environment.Through lectures, coursework, field study and access to geographical information systems, this course covers the fundamentals of geoscience, from the origin and formation of the Earth to the physical science of climate change, to equip the next generation of experts with a deep appreciation of the science behind the way the Earth works.
