Course Summary

This course provides you with the confidence and insight to take your existing skills further in your organisation or through further academic study. Informed by current academic research and leading industry professional practice, the programme has been designed to enable you to demonstrate the intellectual, professional and transferable skills that employers are in need of. These are assessed through a combination of exam and coursework, supported by ongoing virtual learning facilities, peer support and workshop and seminar led teaching.

Complete the MSc in just eight months when you already hold a professional qualification. A full professional qualification from any accountancy body in the world that is recognised by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) provides you with 90 credits towards the MSc.

A balance of individual essays, case studies, facilitation and participation in seminars, individual and group reports (including individual reflective reports), presentations, exams, blogs and dissertation assessments has been created to ensure academic rigour in relation to knowledge and intellectual ability as well as the development of professional and transferrable skills.

Through the MSc Accounting, Finance and Regulation you will experience deeper professional engagement with, and academic knowledge of, the key challenges facing the financial sector. Students come from all over the world to study at Glasgow Caledonian University and graduates take the skills and confidence developed here back to their respective countries and employers to help embed new practice and use of new technologies in their chosen specialism. Others go on to further PhD study using the academic knowledge that they’ve gained through the masters experience.
