Strong financial management is vital to all organisations and the role of the accounting professional is complex, varied and subject to many different pressures. The MSc Accounting, Finance and Regulation course reflects this, covering not only the core areas of accountancy but also key financial and risk topics relevant to your future career. Regulation is fundamental to accounting and finance and is a feature of many of the modules you will is an exciting time in the accounting profession, as we experience a period of significant change, with standards evolving and regulatory practices being reviewed and revised. As a student on the MSc Accounting, Finance and Regulation, you will develop a deeper academic and professional knowledge and understanding of the key challenges facing the accounting profession and the wider financial e accountancy team at Glasgow Caledonian University have a broad range of professional and academic experience which will enhance your learning as a student on our course. Many of the accountancy academics you will meet have experience working in practice as professional accountants, across key areas such as financial reporting, management accounting, audit and the public sector.

Complete the MSc in just eight months when you already hold a professional qualification. A full professional qualification from any accountancy body in the world that is recognised by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) provides you with 90 credits towards the MSc.
Assessment methods
Informed by current academic research and leading industry professional practice, the programme has been designed to enable you to demonstrate the intellectual, professional and transferable skills that employers are in need of. These are assessed through a combination of exam and coursework, supported by ongoing virtual learning facilities, peer support and workshop and seminar led teaching.
A balance of individual essays, case studies, facilitation and participation in seminars, individual and group reports (including individual reflective reports), presentations, exams, blogs and dissertation assessments has been created to ensure academic rigour in relation to knowledge and intellectual ability as well as the development of professional and transferrable skills.
