Course Summary

This unit will enable you to develop advanced capability in working with users of health and social care services, as well as in decision making and managing conflict and risk. You will gain critical and analytical skills in systematically developing your own practice when working in complex situations. You will also develop the ability to work across organisational and professional settings in exercising professional judgment and responsibility. This unit will enable qualified health and social care practitioners to demonstrate they have enhanced knowledge and skills to advance their practice capability when working in complex situations. During this unit, you will have lectures, discussions with peers and you will also have the opportunity to reflect on your own practice and study independently. Unit guides and specific reading materials will be provided to allow you to continue the professional development of your existing knowledge base and maximise opportunities to advance your professional practice. You will complete coursework focusing on your planning, implementation and analysis of a complex situation that examines your professional practice at a structural and individual level and evidences reflective applied learning. Career development: If you have an honours degree and are aspiring to be an advanced practitioner, this route enables you to work towards a Master's degree award. Depending on how many level 7 units you complete, you can exit with a Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Practice.
